Raw Material Preparation
Mineral raw materials-such as quartz sand, pyrophyllite, and limestone-are selected and mixed in precise proportions. The materials undergo fully sealed pneumatic conveying, electronic weighing, and thorough blending to produce a qualified batch mixture, with strict control maintained over uniformity, chemical composition, and moisture content.
High-Temperature Melting
The batch mixture is fed into a furnace, where it undergoes melting, refining, and homogenization at temperatures between 1300°C and 1600°C. Gas bubbles are completely eliminated to form a homogeneous, defect-free glass melt.
High-Speed Fiber Drawing
The molten glass flows through a multi-orifice bushing made of a platinum-rhodium alloy. It is drawn at ultra-high speeds of 3,000 to 5,000 meters per minute into continuous glass fiber filaments with diameters ranging from 5 to 24 microns, then rapidly cooled and set using a water mist.
Sizing and Bundling
Hundreds of individual filaments are gathered into a strand by a gathering device. Simultaneously, a specialized sizing agent is applied to form a protective film on the fiber surface; this enhances strength and reduces static electricity, preparing the fibers for subsequent bonding with resin.
