Product Description
Glass Fiber Tissue is an ultra-light non-woven material manufactured from randomly dispersed glass fibers and a carefully selected polymer binder. Unlike woven fiberglass mesh, which mainly contributes structural strength, it is used where surface quality matters most. It forms a uniform resin-rich layer, improves the appearance of composite parts, and helps reduce fine surface cracking during service.
From our experience, this material is often chosen as the finishing layer rather than the reinforcing layer. It performs particularly well in roofing membranes, waterproofing systems and FRP components where a smooth surface, consistent resin distribution and long-term durability are required.
Material Characteristics
Glass fiber tissue offers stable performance in environments where moisture, chemicals or temperature fluctuations would quickly damage conventional surfacing materials.
- Good resistance to acids, alkalis and many industrial chemicals, making it suitable for corrosion-resistant composite structures.

In practice, the non-combustible glass fibers also contribute to improved fire performance and help limit flame propagation when used in multi-layer systems.

The material resists moisture penetration and supports waterproof constructions without affecting resin bonding.

Long-term outdoor exposure has little influence on dimensional stability. UV, humidity and repeated temperature changes generally have limited impact when the correct resin system is selected.

Another factor often overlooked is its electrical insulating capability. For electrical laminates and insulation products, glass fiber tissue provides an additional dielectric barrier while maintaining low thickness.
Available Grades
- Medium-Alkali Glass Fiber Tissue：This grade is widely used in general FRP manufacturing, whether by continuous production lines or hand lay-up processes. It also serves as a facing material for corrosion-resistant equipment and thermal insulation products.

Alkali-Free Glass Fiber Tissue：Produced for applications where electrical insulation is critical. It is commonly used in epoxy copper-clad laminates, electrical insulation panels and related electronic components requiring reliable dielectric performance.

High-Alkali Glass Fiber Tissue：This material is selected for products such as battery separators, roofing membranes, gypsum board facing, PVC flooring and chemical pipe linings. It combines good processability with reliable resistance to moisture and corrosive environments.
