Determine Key Basic Parameters


Alkali Content vs. Application
E-glass (alkali-free) cloth: Offers superior insulation, strength, and heat resistance; suitable for electronic circuits, structural reinforcement, and high-temperature environments; higher cost.
Medium-alkali cloth: Offers better chemical corrosion resistance and lower cost; suitable for general construction anti-corrosion and standard thermal insulation/protection.
High-alkali cloth: Suitable only for temporary protection where performance requirements are minimal; not recommended for engineering projects.


Weight vs. Strength
Low weight (80–120 g/m²): Suitable for crack prevention in standard interior wall plastering and simple decorative reinforcement; low cost.
Medium weight (300–400 g/m²): Balances flexibility and heat resistance; suitable for equipment thermal insulation and standard FRP mold making.
High weight (above 600 g/m²): High tensile strength; suitable for demanding load-bearing applications such as structural reinforcement, wind turbine blades, and ship bulkheads.


Weave Selection
Plain weave: Isotropic with a stable structure; suitable for pressure vessels and standard thermal insulation/protection.
Twill weave: Higher tensile strength in the warp direction and faster resin impregnation; suitable for curved molds and wind turbine blade reinforcement.
