Product Description
Building Insulation Mesh is a reinforcement material used in exterior wall insulation systems to improve the stability and durability of the overall wall assembly. Depending on project requirements, the mesh may be manufactured from alkali-resistant fiberglass, galvanized steel wire, or selected polymer materials. After weaving and surface treatment, it becomes an integral component within the insulation and rendering system.
Insulation boards provide thermal performance, but the long-term reliability of the facade depends largely on the strength of the protective layers surrounding them. Cracking, debonding, and hollow areas often originate within the render layer, especially when the building is exposed to temperature fluctuations, moisture, or structural movement. Reinforcement mesh helps control these issues by strengthening the connection between system layers and improving the mechanical performance of the facade.
Working Principle
Exterior wall systems are constantly subjected to thermal expansion, contraction, curing shrinkage, wind loads, and minor structural movement. These forces create tensile stress within the render layer.
Without reinforcement, stress tends to concentrate around corners, openings, joints, and areas where different materials meet. Over time, localized stress may lead to cracking and surface deterioration.
When embedded into fresh mortar or plaster, the building insulation mesh forms a continuous reinforcing framework throughout the wall surface.
