High Strength Fiberglass Mesh is produced from woven fiberglass yarns and finished with an alkali-resistant coating for use in cement-based reinforcement systems. It is intended for projects where standard fiberglass mesh cannot provide sufficient tensile performance or impact resistance.

In wall reinforcement work, mesh selection usually depends on the thickness of the render, the condition of the substrate and the expected service environment. Heavier meshes are often chosen for industrial buildings, exterior insulation systems and renovation projects where the base layer is exposed to greater movement or mechanical stress.

Working principle

The High Strength Fiberglass Mesh is woven with evenly spaced warp and weft yarns to form a stable mesh structure. During plastering or rendering, mortar passes through the mesh openings and surrounds the yarns completely. After curing, the reinforcement becomes part of the render layer instead of remaining as a separate interface. This allows tensile forces to spread across a larger area and helps reduce cracking caused by shrinkage, thermal movement or minor substrate deformation.

 

The quality of a fiberglass mesh depends on more than yarn strength alone. In production, coating uniformity, weave stability and fabric weight all influence the final performance. A consistent coating helps protect the fiberglass when it remains in contact with alkaline cement materials for long periods, while a stable weave keeps the mesh flat during installation and prevents distortion after embedding.

High Strength Fiberglass Mesh is compatible with cement render, polymer-modified mortar, gypsum plaster and exterior insulation systems. It is also used in precast concrete elements, repair mortars and composite cement panels where additional reinforcement is required.

Typical applications of high strength fiberglass mesh include exterior wall insulation systems, thick render reinforcement, façade renovation, concrete repair, prefabricated construction and industrial buildings. Areas around doors, windows, movement joints and material transitions are commonly reinforced because these locations are more susceptible to stress concentration during service.
