Product Introduction

Decorative Fiberglass Mat is a woven glass fibre reinforcement developed for decorative coating systems, architectural finishes and composite laminates. The fabric is produced from continuous glass fibres arranged in both warp and weft directions, giving the material balanced tensile behaviour together with good dimensional stability during installation and service.

 

In decorative applications, the reinforcement remains embedded within the coating or laminate rather than functioning as an exposed surface layer. The woven structure helps maintain continuity across the finished system while limiting stress concentration caused by drying shrinkage, thermal movement or minor substrate deformation.

 

Natural white is the standard finish for most architectural work. Coloured constructions are also supplied where the reinforcement forms part of the visible design or where product identification is required during manufacturing.

During installation, plaster, decorative coatings, resin or cementitious materials penetrate the fabric and surround the individual fibre bundles. After curing, the reinforcement becomes integrated with the surrounding matrix.

Instead of carrying loads at isolated locations, the woven structure distributes tensile stresses over a broader area. This characteristic is particularly important around substrate transitions, repaired sections and areas subject to restrained shrinkage.

For mineral-based systems, alkali-resistant glass provides improved long-term stability where prolonged contact with cementitious materials is expected.
