Fiberglass yarn for EIFS mesh is a woven fiberglass reinforcement used in Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) and ETICS. It is manufactured from medium-alkali or E-glass fiberglass yarn and coated with an alkali-resistant acrylic polymer to improve durability in cement-based environments.

The coating protects the glass fibers during long-term exposure to alkaline mortars while maintaining flexibility during installation. Depending on the application, different fabric weights and mesh openings are available to provide either standard reinforcement or increased impact resistance.

Construction and Reinforcement

The fiberglass Yarn for EIFS Mesh is installed within the reinforcing base coat where it becomes fully encapsulated by the mortar layer.

Once embedded correctly, the mesh and base coat work together as a composite reinforcement layer. This improves crack resistance and helps maintain the integrity of the exterior finish.

The alkali-resistant coating helps preserve the mechanical properties of the glass fibers after prolonged contact with cementitious materials.
