Danyang Yonggu Building Materials Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of glass fiber tape in China. With abundant experience, we warmly welcome you to wholesale bulk glass fiber tape made in China here from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and competitive price.
Product Description
Glass Fiber Tape combines woven fiberglass mesh with a pressure-sensitive adhesive to reinforce joints, cracks and repaired sections before finishing. It is commonly selected for drywall installation, gypsum board treatment, plaster repair and similar applications where the finished surface needs additional tensile support.
Depending on the intended use, we laminate the mesh with different adhesive systems or leave it without adhesive for direct embedding into mortar and plaster. Both constructions are used in everyday production. The selection normally depends on how the material will be installed rather than on the reinforcement itself.
One point that often causes confusion is mesh weight. A heavier product does not automatically produce a better repair. Surface preparation, the repair compound and curing conditions usually have just as much influence on the final performance.
Construction
The Glass Fiber Tape consists of woven fiberglass mesh manufactured from either E-glass or C-glass fibres.
For wall repair, the mesh receives a polymer coating to improve compatibility with cement- and gypsum-based materials. Where direct fixing is required, an acrylic adhesive is applied during converting before the rolls are slit to the required width.
Roll dimensions, coating type and adhesive construction vary from one application to another.

How the Reinforcement Works
After installation, plaster or joint compound passes through the mesh and locks it inside the repair layer.
Instead of concentrating movement along a single joint, the reinforcement spreads stress over a wider area. This becomes particularly useful around board joints, repaired openings and substrate transitions where minor movement is difficult to avoid.
We've also noticed that installers sometimes focus only on the Glass Fiber Tape itself. In practice, poor substrate preparation causes more failures than the reinforcement material. A clean surface and proper curing usually make a greater difference than increasing mesh weight.
Product Description
Fiberglass Mesh Tape starts with woven fiberglass mesh. After weaving, the mesh receives an alkali-resistant coating and, where required, an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. The finished rolls are used mainly for drywall joints, gypsum board seams, plaster repairs and cement-based finishing work.
Paper tape still has its place, but many installers now prefer fiberglass mesh when speed and positioning matter. The adhesive keeps the roll where it is placed, so there is less adjustment before the joint compound goes on. Once covered, the mesh is no longer visible. It remains inside the repair layer and reinforces the joint from within.
Over the years we have seen one detail repeated on many job sites. Uniform mesh openings make finishing easier. When the weave is uneven, fillers do not pass through consistently and the repaired area becomes more difficult to level.

Installation and Reinforcement
The tape is laid directly over the joint or crack before filler is applied. Joint compound, plaster or mortar passes through the mesh and surrounds the fiberglass during curing.
The reinforcement does not stop movement completely. Instead, it spreads the load into the surrounding material. Small movements caused by drying shrinkage, seasonal temperature changes or normal settlement become less concentrated at a single joint line.
From our experience, failures are more often related to poor substrate preparation than to the reinforcement itself. Dust, loose particles or insufficient curing usually shorten the service life long before the fiberglass reaches its limit.
Material Properties
The woven structure remains stable during normal installation and service.
An alkali-resistant coating allows direct contact with cement-based and gypsum-based materials without rapid loss of strength.
Fiberglass does not rust and is not affected by moisture in the same way as metallic reinforcement.
Because the mesh remains open, repair compounds flow through the reinforcement rather than forming a separate layer above it. This produces a continuous bond throughout the repaired section.
Different projects often require different constructions. Drywall installation, exterior rendering and insulation systems rarely use exactly the same mesh weight or adhesive formulation.

Where It Is Used
Most orders are supplied for drywall joint treatment, gypsum board seams and routine wall crack repairs.
The same mesh is also incorporated into plaster systems, cement-based skim coats, concrete patching and exterior insulation systems where localized reinforcement is required.
Another application we frequently produce for is renovation work. Older walls often contain a mixture of concrete, brick and previous repairs. Reinforcing these transition areas before finishing generally produces a more stable surface than treating the visible crack alone.
Corner details, ceiling joints and localized repairs around service openings are also common applications.
Manufacturing Options
Production is not limited to one standard construction.
Roll width, length, mesh weight, coating type and adhesive system can all be adjusted according to project requirements. Some customers purchase plain fiberglass mesh for embedding into mortar. Others specify adhesive-backed rolls for faster installation on gypsum board.
OEM labels, retail packaging and export cartons are prepared according to individual market requirements rather than using one fixed format for every order.
